Actor Jeff Bridges teamed up with Squarespace to produce a soundtrack called "Sleeping Tapes."
The result is a somewhat esoteric combination of chanting, ambient sounds, and other audibles Jeff hopes will help you drift off to dream land.
The album received a rousing initiation as it was featured prominently during this year's Superbowl. Squarespace dedicated their infamously expensive ad spot to promoting "Sleeping Tapes," and many saw the ad as refreshingly different from the other big-brand ads that the Superbowl has become notorious for.
The world is filled with too many restless people in need of rest – that's why I filled my sleeping tapes with intriguing sounds, noises and other things to help you get a good night's rest. - Jeff
Although the album has received some harsh criticism, there’s saving grace in the fact that users can download it for free with a request to provide a donation to support No Kid Hungry, a cause to end childhood hunger in America.
We at Endy are also a bit mystified listening to Jeff’s unique art form. But perhaps that’s the point – to tire yourself by trying to figure it out! We encourage you to check it out and experience it for yourself. It may not be the answer to restless nights, but it's an intriguing project nonetheless.
